Basic Gen 2 paddle for $30. Technology wise, big brands are pushing gen4 paddles and mid size are around gen3. This was considered newer technology in 2023ish.
Most beginners/intermediate players wont notice a big difference between gen 2 and 3.

Pros would be that you can find this paddle on amazon again if you really like it or want to refer to someone. Each model will be slightly different, but you have to play with it to figure it out. Its good enough for someone with experience with racquet sports to pick up and notice a difference. Cheap enough to learn and grow with. If you never played, Id stick with the $12 range or a set of 4 for $40. If you are moving up from starter set, this is good value.

Reputable Budget Brand that has newer paddle tech.
Friday Gen 2 -$60-70, Gen 3 - $100, Gen 4 - $120-160
Vatic Gen2 - $90, Gen 4 - $110

Generic gen 1 (temu) ~ $20
Generic starter set paddle ~ $12

PM me if you want additional recommendations or advice.
