IMO this game is best played with physical buttons. Would the iOS version work on Apple TV?

I don't think so, but this combo might work: Apple TV + iPhone mirror via AirPlay + joypad 8bitdo or similar

Anyone know if on iOS, one purchased copy can be family shared to other family members' devices and used to play together at the same time?

They would need to sign in the Apple account you purchased it on to download it

Yes, but you need a subscription to Apple One. This is around $25/month and you can share purchases, Apple Arcade, Apple music, Apple TV, and a fee other stuff.

You don't need to have the person sign into the original account. Apple One subscription works for this, but does cost extra.

FYI, this also includes the Mr. X Nightmare DLC, which includes a new difficulty mode (Mania+, which had TWICE as many enemies that have more health and are much faster), a roguelike survival mode with power ups after each round (with new unlockable special moves for every character as rewards), and four new playable characters (Estel, SoR4 Max, and SoR4 Shiva. You need a code to unlock SoR3 Roo).

I paid full retail for both the game and DLC on Steam and have over 150 hours of playtime. This is an excellent couch co-op game.

My only negative is that online multiplayer is dead and cheaters have taken all the top spots in rankings.

How does this compare to the native Steam game? Plan to play the Android one via my RG476H. Will play with a physical controller.

*no interest in playing via Gamehub or similar.

Edit: plays very well via my Anbernic.

Unfortunately, this version does not look to be native to Apple TV. Otherwise it is a no brainer buy for me

Not sure if you are joking or not but I am stuck on the level where you fight the two siblings. When I got the game, I was playing everyday until that damn level.

There are plenty of nice phone gamepads, some that don't even need wireless. 🙂
