Dunno, I have the XDT19 and yet to find anything it can't do (obviously excluding changing of truck tires and such). Would not call it light duty despite being subcompact.

Decent for DIY and light duty work due to the subcompact impact driver and 1.5 aH batt. Price is good, but look for more robust models for heavy duty work.

Depends on use case. In the XDT18, max torque 1,240 in. lbs vs XDT19, max torque 1590 in. lbs. Both have their uses, even in professional settings.

this inch vs ft pound is confusing. why not just measure it in ft?

The subcompact is my favorite form factor in the 18v lineup. It doesn't have quite as many options or bells & whistles as the XDT20, but the small head size just feels nice and light.

To address some criticisms:

1240 in-lbs is plenty for any job you would ask of a 1/4" driver. If you need more, you should be shopping for a 1/2" torque wrench.

1.5Ah battery really isn't a drawback to me. Light, powerful tools make long days suck less. If you're doing repetitive work driving hundreds of screws, it makes sense to get a bigger battery. But 1.5 goes quite a ways on a brushless motor. I'd rather carry another 1.5 in my bag (or swap it from the charger) than have the extra weight of a 3.0 or 4.0 on the tool the whole time.

Decent price, great tool manufacturer. This has been on the market for some time. The newer offerings are more compact, the unit in the deal is slightly lighter as well as less powerful and polished with features. I love my xdt19 and look forward to adding an xdt20 someday. But if looking for something to hold above
your head all day driving suitable fasteners for little $ this is a great option that should repel disappointment.

If you're the kind of user to only have one impact, subcompact is all you need and more in a Makita or other top tier tool.

If I didn't already snag the past Bosch deal from Lowes, this seems like a great buy if you just need an sub-compact impact driver.

I used the original subcompact impact for 3 months on a construction site, driving mostly 3" screws, building an insane castle mostly out of 1" plywood. It was adequate to the task, but I found I had to put a fair amount of arm or shoulder into it. My xdt16 crushes it in terms of speed and smoothness. The extra weight is negligible and it drives the long screws with less fatigue for me.
The impact that really replaced the subcompact for me is the xst01 soft impact. It can still drive a 3" screw now and then but for most assembly, it's fast, quiet, and has a great touch.
I gave the subcompact to a friend bc there was really no job that I would reach for it. I've also envied the cxt dt04 which is essentially a 12v version of the subcompact but actually, I'm good.
