The XP46R is a heavy duty Coast rechargeable flashlight that stands out for very bright flood lighting and strong value at $20. It is all metal, feels well built, and can light up a whole backyard, with high mode lasting around three hours and turbo delivering a brief burst of extreme brightness. The beam focus is limited, so it behaves more like a flood light than a true spot beam. The battery is a proprietary Zithion X pack, though a 9 AAA cartridge exists for backup use without turbo. It is a compact, versatile carry light if you can find one in stock.
Common Questions (5)
Availability is highly store-specific: some locations have only a couple units left, while others are sold out or still show regular price. Several stores also show it in stock on clearance but ring it up differently, so checking local inventory and price before driving is important.
It is very bright in real use, with Turbo described as extremely intense and High still strong enough to light up a whole backyard. The focus/zoom range is limited, so it behaves mostly like a flood light rather than a narrow spotlight.
The flashlight uses a proprietary Zithion-X battery, not a common 18650 or 21700 cell. A 9-AAA cartridge is also available as a backup option, but it cannot use Turbo mode with AAA batteries.
It is about 10.5 inches long with roughly a 4-inch handle circumference, and the body is described as all-metal and heavy-duty. That makes it feel substantial, but still manageable to carry.
On High, it reportedly runs about 3 hours and stays only mildly warm after around 20 minutes. Turbo is much shorter, lasting less than a minute, so it is best treated as a brief burst mode.
