This is the first thing I bought from Amazon on my current account back in 1997, and now it is the most recent thing I have bought from Amazon 29 years later. The first time was a gift. This one is for me.

I know there are endless places all over the internet to obtain the information in this book, but I just love the idea of having all the chords and tabs to flip through and learn without having to pick up a screen.

I have this book and it's a treasure trove for anyone wanting to learn the music of The Beatles. Just keep in mind that the print is quite small in order to fit everything in it. I find it much easier to use the digital version on a laptop or tablet if you have one.

I was about to make a similar comment about the print size. When I'm working out a song I usually go to a print shop where I can expand a page to 11 x 17, print it, and have a margin for my own notes. I've owned this volume since 1998. Invaluable.
I bought this 35 years ago when it was first released. The accuracy of the transcription is phenomenal.
My only complaint is the size of the book itself, which is considerably smaller than a typical score page and poses a couple of problems. First, if you are trying to play piano and prop the book upright to read as you play, the pages never stay open. Second, the original intended audience are the Boomers who, at their age, could never read the telephone page sized text without a magnifying glass. 🔍
My sincerest wish is that they would publish a full sized, spiral-bound edition. Or better yet, split into 2, "The Fab Four" and "Wow, LSD!" perhaps.

Would this be a nice donation for my local schools music programs? Also high school or junior high or both? Any music teachers out there that could weigh in?

I think its a great idea. Make sure the program you're thinking of is beyond academic music like chorus and wind band. If they have jazz band or several levels of jazz/pop band or even a guitar program, they would likely benefit from having something like this on hand.

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.
That's Paul McCartney.
