How? That 9850x3d combo kit with the lower end motherboard has been steady at $700. You got a combo with a nicer motherboard for $100 less?

Man prices are so all over the place. 2 weeks ago I got from MC a 9850X3D, Asus Tuf 870P motherboard and 32gigs of DDR5 6000 for $600. How in the world is this deal more than what I bought.

Individual parts are more expensive to buy than this combo. I would say it's a good deal 👍

Nothing's a "good deal" right now. You can thank AI.

Probably from someone being smarmy and not recognizing the reality of pc parts at the moment. The absolute cheapest 32gb ddr5 kit on Newegg right now is $350, so with that in mind another $330 for the cpu/mobo seems fine.

Kinda sucks that buying into one of these bundles is one of the more affordable ways to buy RAM, although the timings aren't as desirable.

Not bad deal considering how much ram is nowadays. If you are willing to spend another $1,000 ballpark, you could have yourself a great pc. I don't see too many prebuilts with a 9800X3D under $2,000

It's funny you're getting downvoted but I thought the same thing. This is NOT a deal because just a week or 2 ago it was the deal you got for $599.

I was able to snag a 4TB NVME for $240 and a 5070 Ti for $780 as open box items right before the prices went exponential. Then got the 9800X3D kit awhile back for $680. Got about $2000 total in it, but everything is hand-picked quality components. Sad that I had to get really, really lucky to match the paper specs of some pre-built systems right now. Unlucky for Micro Center that I probably won't build anything for at least 2 years now, as both storage and RAM are just ridiculously priced, as everyone is aware I'm sure. I hate that my favorite hobby got so out of reach for so many now; it sucks!

So I bought an MC 9800X3D 5070Ti PC mid last year right before prices went insane. I think it was $1899. I posted it here actually. Anyway, for no reason in particular, i decided to upgrade the RAM to 64GB. I bought a G.Skill 2x32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 kit for $208 in June I believe. The cheapest equivalent now is $900. I kinda wish I'd bought another SSD.
Anyway, the sucky thing is I have another PC that I killed the CPU and motherboard on. It's 4-5 years old so was AM4 and had 32GB of DDR4. I kinda want to rebuild it but I just don't really need RAM as I have the spare DDR4 AND the the 32GB of DDR5 from the MC PC but all the bundles come with that. I've looked at various deas but don't know if I should buy cheap AM4 components or AM5.
Anyway, we've had price spikes before (eg GPUs in the crypto boom) but nothing that affected multiple components so badly. I really don't know when this ends but I expect when we next fall into recession after the AI bubble bursts. But it's killing or delaying consoles, I suspect it's effectively killed the Steam Machine because they didn't long in prices and it's even impacted Apple (eg they discontinued the 512GB Mac Studio quietly last week). It sucks.

Decent deal considering, but it's just shame about the mobo. You may be able to pay a little bit more in store for a B850 or X870
