and it appears a single inverter only puts out 120v, requiring 2 in parallel for 240v split phase.I'm guessing the battery is fine, their 100Ah 48v units are even UL listed, not sure about these 50Ah, but I'm guessing they're similar in build quality.

You're right, I stand corrected [diysolarforum.com]. It appears there was some ambiguity and confusion even in the model manual itself whether it could do 240v output. Pretty compelling little bundle if 50Ah is enough, or at least a good start
