Astro Bot is a charming PS5 platformer that feels like a modern Mario style adventure, with standout polish, strong replay appeal, and plenty of free DLC levels. The game keeps players coming back, works especially well for younger or newer gamers, and even shines as a family playthrough. The main knocks are its short length, lack of difficulty settings, and a few platinum chase levels that can frustrate. It is also rarely on sale, though the listed price has shown up differently for some accounts.

  • Players who want a polished 3D platformer, because it is called excellent and compared favorably to Mario-style platforming.

    CalmGame338plus1zero

  • Completionists chasing platinum trophies, because it stays compelling enough to keep returning for one more level.

    redshirt72GreenMorning709

  • Families playing together with young kids, because the platforming is top notch and stays fun as a shared playthrough.

    qwertyaas

  • PS5 owners wanting a short showcase game, because it is one of the best PS5 experiences and easy to finish.

    DelightfulFang4108

  • Players who want long campaigns with lots of replay value, because it is pretty short and can feel finished after one clear.

    DelightfulFang4108

  • Achievement hunters who dislike spike levels, because a couple stages can become aggravating when going for platinum.

    plus1zero

  • Players who need adjustable difficulty, because the game has no difficulty settings.

    DelightfulFang4108

  • Players who bounced off Astro's Playroom, because this game may not hold their interest either.

Fantastic game, I hadn't really gotten into a game in forever, but was endlessly compelled to come back and play one more level, actually pursued the platinum for it, which is my only one. Only complaint is that I wish there were more levels with the sponge power, and where Astrobot can get tiny.

I cannot believe how much I love this game. I've beaten it at least 5 times and will surely play through many more.

Check your local targets I've seen reports of people buying this 21$ . I'm tempted to look for it I did enjoy the demo included on the console. I'm a newer ps5 owner I'm overwhelmed with games I bought a couple and a plus premium sub , plus has 1000's of games but not this one!

Astro Bot is one of the best PS5 experiences, but the game has no difficulty settings and is pretty short. A 10 year old might find it challenging, but most adults (like myself) will easily be able to 100% it in a month or so. I ended up selling my copy a few months after I bought it because I literally had nothing left to find or complete, and I didn't see myself replaying it again.
Worth $25 for the experience, but don't expect a timeless classic with much replay value.

Super fun game. I'm surprised it hasn't come down in price a bit yet, though, as it's been out for a fair amount of time.

Excellent platformer. It's rarely on sale, don't know if it's because it's one of the true exclusives or what but it's worth this price.

That's kinda the point of these platformers, no? Same goes with Mario. There are a couple levels that will aggravate you if you're going for the platinum.

With my current backlog, I will wait until it goes down to <25. Probably, down to 20. However, if I had nothing to play, I would scoop this up in a heartbeat!

Somehow my primate mind doesn't want to buy it if it's not $29.99 🐒 But it's a great game for that price for sure.
