From what I've read, the Pacman 2600+ and the 7800+ consoles are functionally the same. The 7800+ comes with a 2-button controller, which some 7800 games require.

But compared to the standard 2600+, the Pac-Man edition and 7800+ also support keypad controllers, the driving controller (for Indy 500) and have higher resolution paddle input.
