This official Xbox Wireless controller stands out mainly for its unusually low $38.99 price, with the community treating it as far below the usual cost for a brand new Xbox pad. The Shock Blue model is the standard official option, and the same price is also listed for the red version elsewhere. The main caution is durability, with reports of stick drift and softer ABXY buttons over time, though another unit has been used as a main controller without drift. A strong price on a familiar first party controller, but long term wear remains the big question.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. Official Xbox controllers are described as almost never dropping below $55, and this price is called unusually low for a brand-new controller. It is also described as the best price likely to be seen for a new Xbox controller.
Stick drift is reported on some units, and cleaning the stick mechanism did not fix it in one case. Another comment says a main-use controller has never developed drift, so durability appears to vary by unit and handling.
No improvement is confirmed in the comments. The RB/LB peg issue is still being raised, with one shopper specifically asking whether the bumper peg problem has been addressed after breaking the LB peg again.
Yes. The ABXY buttons can become less sensitive over time, eventually requiring harder presses to register, and replacing the membrane does not fix the issue.
Yes. The red version is reported to be available on Lenovo's site for the same price.
