No wonder it's on clearance. Terrible redesign. The previous version that could charge both battery types at the same time was much better. Got that one on clearance for around $35 about 6 months ago.

Maybe so you could get rid of (sell) alot of the extras chargers you have and go with a combo charger that takes up less space?

If it's the one I'm thinking of that was side-by-side, this is much better. That dual was actually larger than two individual chargers side-by-side, so all it did was save an outlet spot. This is much more compact and meets 95% of cases where you only need to charge one or the other. (Plus, I think this is a rapid charger while the other wasn't)

Ok. Sure it's a combo charger but you can't charge them at the same time. Go into Facebook market place and you'll find people giving away Ryobi chargers.
