I used one for years and it's a capable planer, but the DW735X was $522 just last week and is a much better planer. This should be around $400 in my opinion.

This is exactly right - not a deal.

There's no reason to consider this planer at this price point, given that the DW735X still sometimes gets to around $500 and is considerably better.
