Community Reviews

The WD Blue SN5000 1TB is a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD that showed up at a sharp $66 to $69 local Walmart price, with fast pickup or delivery when stock was real. The drive was successfully ordered through curbside, shipping, and delivery, and some stores had only one or two units left. Availability was highly location dependent, though, with the Walmart app sometimes showing stock that later vanished or got cancelled. Brickseek and in store inventory checks helped surface actual units, making this a very spotty but workable find.

  • Curbside pickup orders reportedly completed successfully when the Walmart page showed multiple units at a local store.

  • Curbside pickup reportedly had the SSD order ready in about thirty minutes after purchase.

  • Checking again later reportedly changed availability from no stock to a successful $66 purchase.

  • Using a handheld inventory check at a local store reportedly helped locate nearby stock that was not easily found via app searches.

  • Local store inventory reportedly showed units at checkout but the pickup order was cancelled the next morning.

  • Walmart app and website availability reportedly conflicted with Brickseek results in some locations.

  • Deal availability reportedly depended heavily on location and stock situations, with rural finds not translating to populated areas.

  • Some listings reportedly attracted scalpers relisting the SSD for $200 to $300, even though Walmart appeared to remove those sellers.

Anyone getting this deal likely lives in the sticks or the stock was in the back. Most Walmarts were cleared of these months ago. I went around searching for them locally. Their new stock is getting current inflated prices.

Also it showing in stock there is a good chance those were stolen at some point. But some will get lucky.
You are right, at least in my case, about 'living in the sticks' -- I live in a town of about 17.5k people, and my Walmart had two in stock at the $66 price, which I was able to purchase earlier today. Smilie

I bought 4 last night before I saw this post. 2 for pick up and 2 for shipping.

I was surprised that I actually got all 4. DC area. I go to that Walmart at least twice a week and check out computer parts. I havent seen these on shelves for months.

Dirty scalpers keep trying to relist it for $200-300. Thankfully it looks like Walmart keeps removing those sellers.

Really? I just bought one.
Checked earlier and it wasn't available for me, checked again later and it was.
He labeled it YMMV for a reason. But people are definitely buying them.

Are the folks picking these up seeing the discounted price online or are they finding them in store?

Found one (last one) in St. Charles, MO.
Walmart app/website said OOS but brickseeker said it was available.
