The WD Blue SN5000 1TB is a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD that showed up at a sharp $66 to $69 local Walmart price, with fast pickup or delivery when stock was real. The drive was successfully ordered through curbside, shipping, and delivery, and some stores had only one or two units left. Availability was highly location dependent, though, with the Walmart app sometimes showing stock that later vanished or got cancelled. Brickseek and in store inventory checks helped surface actual units, making this a very spotty but workable find.
People who want to use store inventory tools (like Brickseek) or ask an employee to check with a handheld because commenters said the Walmart app/website was unreliable (OOS or cancellations) but Brickseek/employee handheld lookup helped locate the item in-store.
Shoppers who live in smaller towns or "the sticks" and can act fast because commenters in towns around 17.5k and other rural areas reported seeing 2 units at the $66 price and successfully buying them.
People who can do curbside pickup and are willing to check multiple nearby Walmart locations because the $66 price was only available at one nearby store and the curbside order was ready in about 30 minutes.
Buyers who are okay with inventory being inconsistent and will keep checking later because one commenter saw no availability at first, then checked again and was able to snag the SSD at $66.
Shoppers who can monitor for limited stock and purchase quickly because one commenter bought when only 2 were left and received the drive shortly after.
Anyone who needs the deal to be consistently available at their local store because commenters reported the $66 price was only at specific locations and other stores didn't have it.
Shoppers who rely on the Walmart listing staying accurate because one commenter saw multiple units in stock for pickup and then the next morning their order was cancelled.
People shopping in heavily populated areas who want predictable availability because commenters said the deal was luck-dependent in populated areas and that rural areas were the ones that found it.
Buyers who only check the Walmart app/website and won't cross-check other inventory sources because at least one commenter saw the app/website show OOS while Brickseek showed the last unit was actually available.
Shoppers who are trying to buy from resellers at inflated prices because commenters noted scalpers were relisting the SSD for $200-$300 and the deal depended on Walmart removing those sellers.
Yes, both pickup and shipping have gone through at the $66 price. Orders were completed for curbside pickup in about 30 minutes, and shipping orders were also delivered successfully.
Use Walmart's store inventory, then ask an in-store employee to check with a handheld device; that can reveal nearby stores the app misses. Brickseek also surfaced stores that the Walmart app showed as out of stock, including units in a locked cabinet.
No, availability is highly local and often limited to a single store or a last unit. The online listing reflects local Walmart stock, so heavily populated areas may show nothing while rural stores still have inventory.
Sometimes yes, because stock can reappear or be found at a different store later. Several purchases went through after an earlier no-stock check, but the deal was also described as dead in many areas once local inventory was gone.
Yes. Some pickup orders were cancelled the next morning even after the store showed multiple units, so the inventory display is not fully reliable. Checking again later or using a different store can still work.
Showed 4 in stock at my local one when I placed the pickup order last night, only to have the order cancelled this morning. Nuts.
So I saw where someone used Brickseek instead of the app and sure enough, the store that cancelled my order locally in NC had some per Brickseek. I was there anyway to get some other items and they had one left in the locked cabinet with the external hard drives and other computer stuff. Extremely YMMV though but here's the Brickseek SKU https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...3541866278
Brickseek says it cant check inventory for this item for me. That website sure has gone downhill.
Indeed it has. Now you have to create an account to even check Walmart inventory and the free account on Brickseek only lets me check the two closest stores to me with no way to search based on other nearby zip codes, at least not on their mobile website.

A workaround for that is just go to your profile and change your zip code. Then it'll bring up the 2 closest to that zip code. Still not as nice as it used to be but better then just your 2 closest stores.

Can't believe I didn't think of that. Thanks. Agreed it is not as goood as the old way tho.
Yep deal is dead at this point. That said when I ordered delivery (see my first post in this thread) I ended up receiving the two I ordered - even the wife was pleased at the cost savings for an item we do not need lol

Its been dead for a few months. This only popped up because people in rural areas found a deal. If you currently find one in a heavily populated area you are extremely lucky. If you see the deal online its reflecting local stock to your walmart.
My neighbor sold me 4TB for $120 should I post it up and say it's just a regional deal don't come in here with the angst of a pre-teen?
the definition of a deal is an advantageous purchase if we can't purchase it. It's not a deal. Get off your high horse.
Don't be a dickhead. The "YMMV" tag has always meant it's a Regional Deal.

Walmart app and website availability reportedly conflicted with Brickseek results in some locations.
Deal availability reportedly depended heavily on location and stock situations, with rural finds not translating to populated areas.
