This is a very cheap corned beef round, best for low and slow cooking rather than brisket-style slicing. The cut is leaner than brisket, so the texture can be firmer and drier if it is not cooked carefully. Cooking ideas include crockpot, Instant Pot, or an overnight soak to cut sodium, and the seasoning packet works well with beef broth. Availability is location dependent, but the deal has been active with free shipping in some areas.

  • Corned beef round can be cooked low and slow in a crockpot for tender results.

  • The deal can be back in stock in some areas, including NYC, after previously being unavailable.

  • Cooking guidance suggests using beef broth with the seasoning pack for about eight hours.

  • Instant Pot instructions recommend roughly 80 minutes plus overnight soaking to reduce sodium.

  • Availability is location dependent, so the deal may be unavailable in certain cities like Las Vegas.

  • Use or freeze by dates can be relatively soon, such as 5/12/26, requiring timely planning.

  • Corned beef round is not brisket, so it can be firmer and slightly drier if not cooked properly.

  • Package weights can vary significantly, with some orders arriving much lighter than expected.

That's a lot of salt and sodium derivatives.

Not available in Las Vegas, but available to be delivered to my son in the Los Angeles area. Ordered 6 to get above the nominal $25 minimum. He's going to freeze them, and we will pick them up when we visit at Easter.

Got my 12! It's a location dependent deal. 10 miles down the road from me it isn't available but here I could order as many as I wanted.
so how are we cooking these things in 2026? Still boiling it? I was thinking crock pot on low since this is a leaner cut.

Wow, this is insane. My son got the 6 I ordered yesterday, popped them in the freezer for me. I checked again this morning, and now they are available in Las Vegas. Ordered 6 to get the free shipping, should arrive in the next hour or so. Here's the kicker - 6 packages are only 9.76 pounds.
The ones my son received were 14.52 pounds which seems reasonable, almost 2 and a half pounds each. I don't mind small packages, as they are charging for the actual weight, but I don't think I've ever seen these so small. Maybe cook 2 at a time...
Edit: Have no idea how they came up with the order total. All the packages except 1 were over 3 pounds each. Free food, my favorite kind.
And as mentioned above, use/freeze by date is 5/12/26.

Low and slow, so crockpot should be fine (corned beef and cabbage 🤤)

Yeah I have #2 and #3 going right now! Beef broth with the season pack and 8 hours worked pretty good yesterday. Maybe I'll use a bay leaf today

I have a rectangular aluminum pan with a sliding lid that we call the brisket pan that I inherited from my grandmother. I'm thinking it's probably over 80 years old. This is the only time we use it. Going to cook one tomorrow. Hadn't thought of adding a bay leaf, thanks for the idea.

I soak mine in water overnight to reduce the sodium. Still tastes great.

Soak 4 hrs and change water frequently to reduce saltiness.

Sous vide 145F for 24 hrs.

Cool down in ice bath.

Pat down dry, save juices for au jus. Season exterior to your liking, mustard binder.

Smoke at 200 for 3 hrs.

Delicious tender pastrami
