For those interested.
There is a current rebate on this item, however REBATE is NOT valid on Walmart.com. It is valid in store at Walmart and requires a B&M cash register receipt.
Typically price is $5--7 more in store, if your local store will PM to the Walmart.com price, you can get the rebate. It isn't clear if getting a PM in store is a sure thing as haven't located a firm policy on their website. if there isn't one, it is up to store discretion. So YMMV of course. Be sure to read and understand the rebate specifics before you head to Walmart B&M so you know what purchases and documentation is required to submit for the rebate.

Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic looks like a solid midrange synthetic oil, with the deal landing especially well when Walmart matches the online price in store and the rebate goes through. The comments point to good value at $23.37 per 5 quart jug, and some even note the high mileage version and Ultra Platinum rebate options. The main catch is the rebate process, which has been inconsistent and sometimes requires a physical Walmart receipt or extra follow up. It is a practical pick if you can get the store price and handle the rebate paperwork.
Rebate submissions can succeed when the receipt and documentation meet the promotion requirements.
In-store scanning can match the online price for some shoppers, lowering the out-of-pocket cost.
Free delivery can apply when buying two jugs through Walmart+.
Pennzoil Platinum can be a Group III+ synthetic option that may be materially better than Group III synthetic oil.
Rebate approvals can require extra invoice documentation, which can add hassle after a denial.
Pennzoil rebates can be denied when the receipt is from Walmart.com instead of a physical B&M register receipt.
Rebate claims can be declined due to receipt details such as missing buyer name.
Pennzoil Platinum is not viewed as high-quality by some shoppers, who recommend alternatives like European-spec or Ultra variants instead.

I use ultra 0W20 in my family's corolla x2 and a GX460. My wife's RX350 hybrid has the Platinum due to 0W16 for hybrids. I do 5000 mile changes with factory Toyota/lexus filters that also go on sale online direct from dealers for about $5.
I also suggest checking out the Project Farm oil test. Ultra platinum did very very well.
I'm tracking the RX with lab testing from my first change when it had the first 1k mile change by me. Interesting to see the metals in the oil from breaking in.
Cheaper? of course it is, not the same level quality of this.

Meeting a standard is one thing, how much you exceed a standard is another.
Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic Motor Oil 5Qt Jug, 0w20,
price tag shows $28 on shelves, but scanned as $23 + tax, in this afternoon.
Paid $50 for two 5Qt Jugs
A few years ago, I did not check online so I didn't know that they would not have it. Instead, I bought the non-High Mileage version. Took it home, submitted and received the rebate, and then returned the jugs. I then purchased the High Mileage version off Amazon. End result was basically the same, but I don't want to go through it again. Better to go to a Walmart that has it when convenient.
For items purchased in a Walmart U.S. store, we will match the price of the identical item advertised on Walmart.com. Restrictions apply [walmart.com].
The Walmart store manager on duty has the final decision on any price match.
