All of mine run 24/7 . None of mine have developed this issue. Even the oldest one is quiet. I change the filters pretty regularly and vacuum out the intake fins on it and the inner housing every few months. I am not saying you don't maintain them but just putting it out there that any item running 24/7 needs to be maintained to ensure a long life. Maybe about once every 2 months or so I spend about 1 minute on each one while I am vacuuming our home.
