Do not buy. Have bought 2 in past 5 years. They do not work anymore just past the 2yr warranty period.

Had the same experience with ones I bought from Costco. These just don't last that long.

Sonicare has a known chronic issue. I replaced mine before the warranty expired, but the new one had the same problem again. If you search online, you'll see that it's a common issue, and there are even DIY fixes for it. I'm still using it for now, but once I finish all the toothbrush heads I already bought, I'll switch to Oral-B.

Warranty is 2.5 yr when you register it, the stem issue shouldn't happen if you use genuine Sonicare brush heads, but I would still recommend looking at other models, like the new 6000 series, or 7000 series if the app is important to you

They finally fixed the issue with the new motor in the 5000-7000 series, fyi. Oral-B just doesn't clean my teeth like a sonicare, leaves them feeling scummy. The center of the brush doesn't even move, just rotates

I swear the quality changed in these in the last couple of years. I bought one from Costco about 3 years ago, and then it died so I returned it and got a new one.... And it feels lighter? And lower quality in the battery doesn't last as long

I see that some users here have had some issues with their toothbrushes but I would like to chime in I have had mine for well over 5 years and never had an issue. I could never go back to a basic or rotating head toothbrush, they just don't leave the same smooth clean that these do.

Dang. I have the 6100 series. Do you have any specific model numbers for the new one? Or any tips on searching for newer models?

Search for "next generation sonicare technology" 👍
