It's a good idea to keep the center of gravity as low as possible, by storing heavy stuff on the bottom and lighter things on top. With the included fiberboard, they'll easily hold 500 lbs of items or more, if stacked well. Fiberboard quickly loses strength and shape if it gets wet. For greater rigidity with multiple units, zip tie them together through the shelf post holes.
