This ECO-WORTHY 12V 280Ah LiFePO4 battery stands out for its very low price, Bluetooth monitoring, and strong value for solar, RV, van, and backup power setups. The battery has been used successfully in cold weather, in parallel banks, and with inverter and UPS style systems, and the app support and fast shipping from Houston add appeal. Main cautions are checkout quirks, extra fees or taxes, and occasional Bluetooth or shipping issues, so the final total and unit condition deserve a close look. A solid budget battery for noncritical power projects.

Common Questions (6)

  • It is being used successfully in RVs, bus conversions, solar sheds, UPS-style backups, and house battery banks. Reports include solid cold-weather operation down to -30°F, long runtime, and years of trouble-free use on older units, but it is not intended for starting engines and should be fused because it lacks true over-current protection.

  • Yes. The checkout price can jump to $300+ unless the coupon is applied correctly, and some orders still show extra fees or taxes. A PayPal promo or seller coupon can bring it down, but the final total may still land around $206-$239 shipped depending on taxes and whether the promo applies.

  • Yes. The Bluetooth feature is useful for monitoring, but it can disappear on some units and may only come back after the battery is run down until the BMS trips. Other units have stayed compatible with the Overkill app, so the app support can vary by battery/BMS.

  • For UPS-like use, it needs an inverter with UPS/pass-through features and the correct AC input wiring; the AC plug goes to the AC INPUT green terminal, not AC OUTPUT. For charging, some setups use a separate 20A LiFePO4 charger, and a 280Ah battery can take about 14 hours to fully charge at 20A.

  • The coupon appears to apply to only one item at a time, so multiple batteries may require separate purchases or separate accounts. Some shoppers worked around this by splitting orders and stacking other discounts like PayPal promos or cashback.

  • That fit is uncertain from the comments, and one shopper specifically asked because the battery is large enough that two units may not fit where planned. If space is tight, measure the compartment before ordering rather than assuming a standard 2-battery RV box will work.

These Lithium batteries are not made to start cars. They are storing energy very well, but don't supply the amps needed to start a car. They have a 200A BMS which means they will not provide the 600-800A (or whatever your car needs) to crank the engine.

There are another 5 or 10 reasons why this does not work, but I am sure you can do some googling or LLM'ing.

Just a different purpose.

Is this a good brand? Reliable?
I've purchased many of their batteries and haven't have one fail yet. Oldest one has been running for 1 year and 4 months in a UPS.

Awesome, grabbed 4 more of these across 4 accounts lol, $206 with the taxes each. Got the instant $15 off for each account. Paid with the same PayPal account each time lol. Now I will have 8 of these, running in 2P4S for my 48V Hybrid inverter for ~30KWh of battery backup for the house. $56/KWh before taxes, insane in the membrane!

I just got one. What's the best way to use this as backup power similar to UPS?

You would need an AC inverter that has features similar to a UPS. Depending on the wattage you're looking to cover, be sure not to get smaller gauge wire, to connect your battery to the inverter, than is advised. These batteries paired with an inverter make a very capable power station👍
