The Quest 3S deal stands out for PCVR and media use at a very low price, with some reports of fast U.S. warehouse delivery and units arriving working normally. The headset can run Android apps, sideload software, and use third party USB C power injectors or a pocket power bank to avoid battery drain. The main concerns are AliExpress shipping and refund reliability, plus uncertainty about authenticity, warranty, referral credit, and whether the seller is truly U.S. based. A few comments also note Meta ecosystem and future support worries, making this a tempting but cautious pick.
The headset can work normally after arrival, including connecting and downloading content from Meta services.
The deal can arrive quickly when the seller ships from a US warehouse, with delivery reportedly taking about 4-5 days.
The Quest 3S can support PCVR and sideloading on Android, which keeps it useful outside a tight Meta-only workflow.
Charging from a pocket power bank can reduce cable hassle compared with a wired PC connection setup.
AliExpress orders can be marked delivered even when a scammer ships a rock to another address, and disputes may not resolve in the buyer's favor.
The listing price can be so low that it may indicate a scam, a cheap alternative, or a refurbished/defective unit with limited recourse.
Meta's ongoing VR direction can be uncertain, including Horizon Worlds discontinuation that may reduce future content creation and access.
AliExpress shipments can get stuck at a local post office for weeks and then return to China, while the buyer still gets charged.

I have the suspicion that this way they can also declare low costs and get away with it, especially when they send 1000 trinkets in one box and split it to 500 people.
Fair concern though -- and others as expressed. The only actual issues I've had on AliExpress are sellers that just cancel orders, non-delivery, and what I bought just not being great. But I've never been left out to dry. Communication with sellers can be rough. Customer support/escalations are usually not so bad (in my experience).
Curious to see more reports. It's garnered enough interest I assume some people bit and we should start seeing results trickle in. These should come fast with no tariff/customs per listing info. Even if it turns out legit it's not the steal of the century.
For $250 from Walmart with a game, warranty, returnability, and $30 Quest money, I'm pretty sure I know which I'd choose.
