Very rare to see Ring solar panels on sale. I've used 3 and they have worked well for me. My price in 07/2023 was $39

Question: is a rechargeable battery for the device required for this to work? I have a ring outdoor cam and would like to use solar for it, but I couldn't really find info on Amazon.

From my experience, when you plug in the solar panel to the outdoor cam, it automatically senses and works with the camera. It even updates itself on the app too. Ring batteries are rechargeable and mine charges to the high 90% usually with the panel. Not sure, but I believe it's set to not keep charging to 100% to prevent battery degradation. Even with 3-4 hours of daily sunlight charging, that usually is enough to keep my battery almost fully charged unless it constantly is recording footage. Even with prolonged rainy days and poor sunlight, my battery never went to zero.
