There are two versions of this bread maker. This version has a PTFE coating and the other (BB-PPC20) is ceramic.

Be sure to buy a replacement set of paddles because the D-shaped steel shaft that turns the paddles will eventually round out the paddle's D-hole after years of usage. I got a replacement set of paddles from Zojirushi for $20 and I don't expect to have to use them for many years but I know when they do finally wear out they probably won't be available anymore at that time. I've had a previous breadmaker for over 10 years with the same issue but there were no replacement paddles for that breadmaker since it had been discontinued for at least 7 years by then with no replacement parts being sold for it anymore.

Fantastic bread maker, been using it almost weekly since I bought in 2021 (at almost 66% of this price).

If you're in the market, it's really amazing and the slickest deal is the long term cost savings of making your own fresh bread (almost worth it for the smell in the house of fresh bread).

If I wanted to use this to make sandwich bread for my kids' school lunches, would it be good for that? Seems like the bread is very tall and might not fit well in their bentgo boxes. Just wondering if anyone else has these and uses it for sandwich bread.

So excited for this bread maker. We have a grain mill and I'm hoping this will allow us to convert to only homemade bread now.

We use it almost exclusively for kid lunch sandwich bread, but absolutely confirm that the loaves are too tall without trimming to fit in a standard size sandwich box/container.

For that precise shape, you'd want one of the vertical stacked loaf machines, which this is not.

Search your thrift stores. Bread machines are plentiful and you can usually get one for less than $30

Of course you can, like you can get a rice cooker for around that price, but it will not compare.

I have the supreme, very similar machine, same loaf size. I make 1.5 lb loaves with it and its perfect the kids lunch. One of my better purchases I've made in the last year as odd as it may sound.

I got the "Zojirushi BB-PAC20 Home Bakery Virtuoso Breadmaker" via a slickdeal Dec 2012 for $167(https://slickdeals.net/e/5698340-zojirushi-bb-pac20-home-bakery-virtuoso-breadmaker-210 , not sure why I paid less ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), which is an older model but basically the same bread maker (the link from my 2012 order is the same Amazon listing as this deal post).

Assuming the build quality and function is the same, this thing is awesome, still working as well now as it did almost 14 years ago. We go though phases where we use it a lot and then not so much... based on anyone craving fresh bread. We LOVE the basic white bread recipe.. nothing beats a slice of still warm freshly baked bread with some kerrygold on it... YUM.

It is so easy too, just 15 min or so to add all of the ingredients (I am OCD about how I add them) and push a couple of buttons... then fresh bread 3.5 hrs or so later.

Yes, don't buy Zojirushi for $300+ as a first bread maker, check thrift stores. But if you know what you need - this is a good deal. I've never seen Zojirushi bread makers in thrift stores (and I have 2 bread makers from thrift stores). So I personally ordered this one.
