These Aootek solar motion lights are best known for easy outdoor path and stair lighting, with motion sensing and decent brightness when they work. Long runs are possible, especially on the larger button on the back version, and sealing the seam between the solar panel and housing with silicone or similar caulk can help. The smaller front button version has repeated reports of water intrusion, dead units, and sensors that stop turning on automatically. A few sets have lasted years in snow, storms, and winter weather, so durability seems to depend heavily on the version and sealing.

To seal them is really easy with tubeless tire sealant and a syringe

Did you call Aoo?
They were $19.99 when I purchased them back in August 2025. Didn't think it was worth the time.

Are these worth it if you caulk the top to keep water out, or better to look for another light?

If these are the ones with the screws on the back for access to the inside then I have had multiple failures.
I took them apart and they were bone dry! Appears to be electronics and not battery related.ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

Bought a set and will try to work on setting them up. Fell yesterday and a little unstable as always.LMAOlaugh out loud

These are still working! These have no screws on the back and are sealed.
The older ones with no side lights and a screwed on back are slowly dying.

In motion sensor mode, does the light stay on as long as it continues to detect motion? Or does it always turn off after 30s no matter what?

Read some reviews on Amazon that the new ones they are shipping sare small in size than what they sold last year. Not sure if the quality remains same, anyone has experienced same?
Yes, it is smaller size than last year. Just install it yesterday. Don't know the quality yet

Not worth it. I purchased, lasted couple months. When it rained, it filled the light, turned brown then quit working. Look for a different brand.
