Now for the important part: I would not recommend the model featured here. Once you compare close up photos for the promoted model to the variant I link to below, you can understand better. The model below has a slightly raised control pad. What you don't see well-- if at all-- is that there is a USB Type C port on the ridge that raises the control pad over the cloth eye mask. It's built in.

The older masks use a connector that's part of a very thin, brittle wire with a very thin insulation outer coat that you have to fish out and tuck in to the mask. The wire tends to die in 12-18 months of nightly use. Regular bending every night and morning. Ultimately wearing out. (And even worse: the models I used to use have an obsolete Micro USB connector. Maybe they now use USB-C. I cannot say.)
The built in exterior USB-C connector of the newer model eliminates the wear and tear that are inevitably going to kill the wire in the older design.
I tried the code on the superior model and it does not apply. So I suspect they're exhausting the old supply. I would rather pay full price for the superior, more durable design. Or you can just wait for a promo. (You can use the Amazon comparison site or a Slickdeals alert if you want to hold out for a future sale price or promo.) This isn't a pricey product at the full price so you might want one right away and then buy a backup if/when the price drops.

I bought a pair of these last time and my biggest complaint is the will slip up or down your face since they are over your ears. Regular eye masked without the built in speakers don't slip down your face since your ears prevent it from slipping.
