These are not great benches. There's nothing locking the back in place, so if you move too much, you can pop it loose and end up with the back falling out from under you. On the one I had, things also didn't quite line up so it was easy to think you had it set, but it would pop loose as soon as you put weight on it. It was going to get me injured, so I got rid of it and replaced it with a better one that has a spring-loaded locking knob.

looking at most recent 1 star reviews looks like you're spot on. Always worth it to pay a little more not to get hurt. I get hurt doing exercises the right way just bc I'm old.

It doesn't stay locked in place and will "pop" into position even after it's already fully in position. I'm not talking about the back part that sits in the metal to hold the back of the chair up, I mean the middle and the leg areas that you put pins in. I'm not exaggerating when I say I could've have died each time it failed me."

Man... you'd expect better from a respected brand like YKJIYUE.

Welp, I ordered it because I need a cheap little bench. If it sucks it's going back, stuffed back into the box as delicately as you'd expect.

Received mine today. I don't know what people expect. It's pretty good for the price. I have no experience with these things, but I've assembled and used it now and folded it back to store underneath the bed. I don't really expect the cushioning to last more than a year, but it's so cheap it doesn't matter. The frame seems sturdy enough. If you are doing light to medium workouts and not violently moving around, nothing should get loose. The whole thing is less than 20 pounds. It's compact and easy to move around. It's for beginners and small space dwellers.
