The LIQUI MOLY Valve Clean has limited effectiveness on direct injection engines based on customer feedback and Q&A responses.
Why it's limited for direct injection:
In direct injection engines, fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber, bypassing the intake valves
Since this product is added to fuel, it won't reach the intake valves where carbon buildup occurs in GDI engines
Multiple customers confirm it "won't work" or has "no effect" on GDI intake valves
Better alternatives for direct injection:
CRC GDI IVD Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner
Haven't tried this product but the best carbon dissolver/cleaner is PEA, polyetheramine, which this doesn't have. Their injector cleaner does contain PEA, which sounds like a more effective product to me.

Looked this up seems like it's a seafoam kind of additive/solvent cleaner? Anyone try it have any feedback?
I have tried all of them - seafoam, techron, etc. This one is by far the best. I had a 2001 corolla I let sit for roughly a year. This was recommended to me - said to be better than the injector cleaners for fixing the rough idle. Tried 2 cans of this (2 separate full tank cycles) and the car was back to idling and running like new. I use it every time I change my oil now. Would definitely recommend.
I personally think it's time for Amazon to be sued and for consumers to win now that they have ai they can show their easily technology capability of identifying lies and snake oil in product. And yet they choose not to do it. The fact you can ask Rufus and it can easily tell you that it's not possible for a battery to have as many milliamp hours as the ad claims, and yet Amazon will not fact check with their automated systems the lies that they sell

If you have port injection, what do you think gasoline does?
If you have direct injection, this never even hits your valves.
Save your money here. Get a walnut blasting if you have direct injection.
I can't say specifically for this product. But if it has PEA in it, then it may help clean fuel injectors a little, as well as combustion chamber. Will it make a difference in any meaningful way? Probably not. But maybe if used every 2-3 thousand miles. You'd be better off using a Top Tier fuel, but this can work as a substitute if you don't have TopTier fuel available.
As others stated, limited to no benefit for most modern engines which are GDI. A few manufacturers have dual injectors (GDI + Port injection), where it would work.
If you really have dirty intake valves, then you need a professional to open it up and walnut blast, or do some manual cleaning. If you have a small amount of buildup, or before buildup occurs as maintenence, then something sprayed into a vacuum line or intake may help keep it clean. There are lots of products available that claim to do this well. But you have to be careful with doing it, as it can cause some serious engine problems if you mess it up.
I am not a mechanic, but I do work on my car a decent bit and try to keep it running in tip top shape. Did learn some from a family of mechanics, though mostly older and they aren't as experienced with some of the newer stuff. YouTube has also been a great teacher. So don't take my advice, do your own research before you do something that could mess up your engine.
Review claims it's better than seafoam. I can't say otherwise. It's an additive. Probably just temporary effects.
Verified Purchase Review:
Put this in the original 2JZGTE out of my 1994 Civic EX. Really made the super charger come alive. Want to say I picked up at least 12lbs of boost with the additive. Laid down a solid 15.4 ET and got kicked off the track first time out. Nuff said.
PEA supposedly can handle the hi engine temps to clean the system. Hard to tell what works or not, but from testing, anything without PEA is questionable.
Coming from a non-mechanic, on my VW GDI engine, I was getting P0301, P0302, and P0303 errors, and used 1 can of CRC GDI IVD Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner and 1 can of Gumout Foaming Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner with CarbonClear, which eliminated all but the P0303 error, which still persists. I came here to consider this LIQUI MOLY, but as it's being mentioned, it would not be good for GDI.
I'm currently on a very tight budget and attempting to avoid the cost of walnut blasting. There are some DYI tuts online for that, but that is way above my ability.

LIQUI MOLY - DIJectron Additive - Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) Cleaner (22076)
Engine Intake Valve Cleaner Spray – GDI Safe | Cleans Intake Valves & Chambers, Lubricates Upper Engine, Storage Safe – 14 oz | Model SS14 | 2 Pack
Smilyeez BG GDI Air Intake & Valve Cleaner PN 260 With Pocket Screwdriver (1)
A intake cleaner (spray carb cleaner for example) will do more than anything you can add to your gas, esp most newer cars that are DI.

Its mostly snake oil at best and worse for DI motors.
