Shake Shack is offering a free Chicken Shack sandwich with a $10 purchase, and the strongest appeal is pairing it with other discounts or a quick weekday lunch. The sandwich gets praise for flavor in some variations, especially the Korean fried chicken version with special sauce and fried onions, and the chain is also noted for cage free chicken. The main drawback is value, since the $10 minimum feels steep for a small sandwich, and the chicken has been described as downsized, dry, or unpleasant. A practical add on if the rest of the order already makes sense.

Common Questions (4)

  • The sandwich and chicken patty are reported to be noticeably smaller than the marketing image suggests, with some describing the patty as downsized or tiny. One shopper still found the chicken itself large on a first try, so the size perception can vary by order.

  • The deal requires a $10 purchase to get the Chicken Shack free, so the value depends on what else you order. Some shoppers still use it with fries or gift cards, while others feel the minimum spend makes it less compelling than promos with a lower threshold.

  • Some describe the Chicken Shack as dry or unpleasant, with a musty or sweaty taste. Others like Shake Shack's chicken offerings, especially the Korean fried chicken sandwich with special sauce and fried onions.

  • Add the items to your cart, then on the checkout screen enter the promo code before paying. That workaround is meant for cases where the offer does not apply automatically on the kiosk.

Just went yesterday. FYI if the promo is not applying on the kiosk, cashier told me: add everything to the cart, then after the checkout screen, before you actually pay, there will be a place where it asks you to enter your promo code.

Always a good deal, especially in combination with those GCs I got at Costco last year for 25% off...and the $3 fries.
As for fast food quality comments...Slickdeals is about the last place I'm ever listening to culinary opinions, no offense!

Shake shack chicken is probably the worst fast food chicken sandwich. It is embarrassing for them to attempt selling these.

That's true, but this is a different deal that can be used any day of the week. I rarely eat fast food on the weekend but picking up something quick during the week is often all I have time for. There's one near my office and I like their chicken sandwiches so I'll use this for lunch one day.

had my first shake shack yesterday because of this deal. The burger patties were thin, but they hit the right mix of juicy and crispy. the toppings were good...thick cut onion and tomato. My Burger was $12. I would value it at $8-9 dollars. Better than a McD, BK, or Wendys, but not worth $12 by itself. Lots of fast casual places have burger COMBOS for $10-12.
I haven't eaten the chicken yet, but the chicken itself looks huge.

This making frontpage is shocking. This isn't a deal at all. You have to spend $10 in order to qualify. Who tf is spending $10 on a meal at fast food? This makes other chains look decent when comparing prices.
You really can't figure out that this is just a different way of doing BOGO? LOL
