Think about when you get antifreeze for your car. One is "pre-mixed," the other is full concentration. They are both at the same price. Which is the better value? The makers do the same thing with detergent

That's good information but you left out the part about which one this is. At this price point we could assume but the whole point of the comment section here is to get information without leaving this site, know what I mean?
Purex sucks its like watered down detergent compared to Tide. Tried once, never again doesn't clean your clothes. Theres a reason why this stuff is cheap and the good stuff more expensive..

Add in a coupon code and cashback and the unit economics make even more sense. All these detergents have water, some are better.
I agree with you on the anti-freeze assessment, but add to the scam with certain colors they sell.
The oxiclean version may be only one worth buying. There is an additional $0.50 off on the pods and liquid product (1 offer each) with Ibotta.
Pods are the only one that qualify for the additional $0.50 cash back. The liquid does not at Walgreens fyi. (Or ymmv as Walgreens is not listed as a valid store)

I mix this plus others into a bottle of Persil.
This also works well as a pre-treat.
