If you are considering the Kindle colorsoft over the Kindle paperwhite, the colorsoft can be a little laggy.
My brother downgraded to the paperwhite due to the lag.

Not just that, it looked worse for non-color books compared to an older Kindle I had... I ended up returning the colorsoft

I got a color kindle a few months ago from a SD post. It hung up and required hard rebooting a few times, then stopped charging. I sent it back the last day of the return window.

I miss my kindle oasis with the buttons: that was a good piece of engineering and design.

I am waiting for the 32 GB Kindle Paperwhite at 150 to come around again. As far as the color version - I don't see the point when you can use a tablet to look at graphic novels and whatever.

I've taken a look at one in a store, and the color screen is nice. However, the Colorsoft is a first-generation product from Amazon. I'd wait until a second or a third generation Colorsoft becomes available in a couple of years before considering a purchase. This way, all the problems associated with this current iteration (yellow band along the bottom of the screen on some models, hardware lockups) are worked out, and you get a more refined product down the road.

If this works like other bundles then yes. I have done this in the past when a phone was bundled with a headphone. I returned the headphone and got the refund for its dollar amount listed on the order detail.

Just got one recently and have enjoyed it, coming from a 2022 Kindle Paperwhite. I agree with previous commenters, I'd rather read comics on a larger screen of my iPad, but there is something very nice about having color for both highlighting and book cover display.

Is this still the first version that had the yellow band? Or is it a newer version that corrected this issue? And to get discount on new kindle do you have to have a recent kindle, or can it be a really old kindle? Because if so, I may wait another year to upgrade and hope they release a newer version later this year that is less laggy (as some have mentioned this one to be laggy) and not have the yellow band.

I have not see this version of Kindle but moved from a Kindle to a Kobo Libra Colour reader and love it. It's nice for cookbooks.

So I decided to return the charger. Got $9.60 back ($12.01 minus 20% because trade-in credit).
