Any fellow olds out there have opinions on the 13" vs 15"? My current is MacBook Air 13", really love the portability but my eyes are old and wonder if the bigger screen works great.

I had the 13, sold it a while back. Thinking about the 15" MBA but I'm somewhat partial to the 120hz screen on the pro. I what the 16" pro but $$$$$

Same situation - I have had 13 for years .. Picked up 15 last last year from Costco / Instcart deal .. What a difference for reading. Decided to keep both - 13 in my bag for travel as iPad replacement on airplane etc. and 15 for day-to-day. 15 is heavier - no doubt but the screen diff is night and day - better than 14" MBP.

My eyes are too bad for either to cut it at laptop distance. I gave up and use a 10-11" tablet held closer.

Guy who orders laptops at work thinks everyone can get by with mbp 14... I disagreed and said my eyes need 16 ... but I'll wait till he gets his arse handed to him by aging devs for his terrible choice

Appreciate it. I came from an iPad Pro 11" with Magic Keyboard case. The MacBook Air 13 is immensely better especially since I never really used the iPad as a tablet much.

External monitor? 14" or 16" are just for casual work or only terminals to watch the agents code. And in many cases, we've moving on to using phone to let the agent do the work.

14" MBP screen is brighter than the Air and has a refresh rate of 120 Hz

Not making any sense. A 16" Macbook Pro is almost 5lbs. Hence, it isn't (or shouldn't be) doing much travelling. Hence, a nice big monitor would complement your 14" MBP.

When your eyes get older, you'll make sense of it... till then it's like I'm speaking a foreign language
