so is this like getting a tesla solar system with powerwall but cheaper?

are permits required and notifying utility company? or are these independent and you have to hook up the appliances you want to it?

I think the application is for grid-tied situations for backup power with solar to help charge and extend the backup time. The typical US home uses 30kWh per day, so without conserving this would be a solid 2-day battery backup. Most of the charge for the batteries would come from the grid initially.

With the price of a Tesla Powerwall 3 above $10k for 13.5kWh of backup, it's nice to see options like this.

Personally I went with 9.5kW solar array with 32kWh of battery back that I'm installing myself for a bit less than this deal. With that I should be able to be off grid indefinitely, although the system is grid-tied.

Could someone who already has a solar array on their roof just get the batteries from this and tie it in with their current system so it charges the batteries.

If tesla powerwall 3 is above 10K for 13.5kwh battery, this is 90kwh it says, this is significantly cheaper

I havent seen the specs on power wall, but yes its similar.

Depends on location... Im gonna say, you need an electrician to wire this in a way that backs up your home, and he/she will include the permit if needed. You can use it as off grid, and then you likely wont need it, or can get away without it (especially in rural areas)

Those solar panels are like throw a hotdog in a well.

Youre better off reselling them.

Ecoflows marketing is always like this. Its justification to up the price of the deal on overpriced stuff. It seems like it could be off grid but its always intended to be plugged in, or at least you start your trip with it plugged in and the solar panels just give you alittle something over a weekend camping trip
