This foldable AOVOPRO scooter stands out as a strong budget commuter with easy setup, app pairing, and real world speeds that can reach the low 20s in sport mode. The 10 inch tires and dual suspension help soften bumps, and the build quality feels better than expected for the price. The app can also restrict speed, which is useful for younger riders or hilly routes. Main cautions are the inconsistent speed claims, with some reports closer to 15 to 17 mph, plus braking and solid tire handling that feel less reassuring at higher speeds. A practical pick if you value value and adjustability over premium ride feel.

  • short commutes for riders who want to stay around the safer default speed because multiple owners say it's plenty fast for everyday riding (about 15-18 mph) and they charge it nightly for roughly ~15 miles of real-world range.

  • people who are okay using an app to set limits because several commenters say the scooter needs the mobile app to activate the lock and set max speed (and they were able to pair successfully).

  • parents buying for tweens/teens in a hilly area because commenters say they can speed restrict via the app and that hills may require foot assist at higher rider weights/grades.

  • riders who prefer solid tires with suspension to reduce flat-tire hassle because commenters mention solid/airless tires and also note front shocks/dual suspension that can help with bumps even on solid tires.

  • buyers who want a value alternative to pricier scooters because one commenter compared it to a Costco Phantom A10 and said this AOVOPRO is a really good value at about ~$200.

  • riders who rely on the Android app working because multiple commenters report the AovoPro/Aovo app has had serious issues (Android app quit working or had abysmal ratings and wouldn't open), and the app is needed to activate the lock and set max speed.

  • heavier riders or anyone expecting easy hill climbing because commenters say uphill can be tricky and at ~210 lb hills over a few percent grade may require foot assist.

  • people who want strong, reliable braking because at least one owner says braking was unacceptable on their unit and another questions whether the electric brake works.

  • people who care about smooth turning at speed because commenters say the squared-off solid tires make leaning/turning difficult and turning becomes "airplane-like" after ~10-15 mph, so you have to go very slow when turning.

  • buyers who want to park and secure it like a bicycle without worrying about theft because one commenter says their scooter feels insecure since anyone can power it on and ride away.

I am glad you already had some experiences. It looks definitely more portable and small. I got this scooter a few months ago. everything was good but it is too big, bulky and heavy. I guess I should learn unicycle then. thanks for sharing!
For sure! Also, some unicycles have training wheels that attach to the foot pedals so you can get accustomed to the balance and accelerate/decelerating. My advice would be to just find a rail or wall for support until you get the hang of it.

Top speed is 22MPH. You may want to spend more for higher speeds

Seems like a decent scooter. Should be wearing a helmet though

22 is pretty fast! Probably faster than the average speed on a bicycle.

I see these all the time, especially at schools, that never have any locks on them. Traditional bikes, sure, but aren't e-bikes/e-scooters mostly secure as far as riding away it with? I guess someone can part it out?
Mine, and this one, couldn't be any more unsecure. Anyone can just power it on and go.

The AovoPro Android app has abysmal ratings since its last update in December 2025 with everyone saying it won't even open. Not sure how important it is. Not sure if there are other ways to update the firmware.

True I farked myself up on some ice and one time trying to answer my phone. You don't need more than 22. That 45 mph is for bikes.
I'd refrain from saying "you don't need more than 22" in that blanket statement as it is untrue. Some people do need it. I ride a Kaabo Wolf King GT that CAN go up to 62mph because I need a scooter that can go over 40mph for the particular commute I ride, yet I've never crashed or gotten hurt because I ride responsibly and legally just like I drive a Tesla Model S that CAN go 195mph but I don't drive it that fast on public roads as that would be irresponsible/dangerous/stupid/illegal. I've also never caused a car accident in my +15yrs of driving. What you should say is "the majority of people probably don't need to go 45mph on a scooter so a 15mph scooter will suit most people fine" which I'd agree is true, but making blanket statements like saying ALL people don't need something is most often untrue.

I would NOT want to go 22mph on those airless tires. I have a HiBoy scooter with the same style tires and you feel every bump at 18mph. I have to really watch the road surface to avoid bumps and cracks because they can send you flying if you're not careful.

To be fair, these are 10 inch tires; the ones on my scooter are only 8.5 inches. So they're probably a bit more stable on this model. But still.... I would be super careful with this setup.

Got this/these last year for my two kids, they won't charge this year and we stored them inside this past winter.
Do you mean battery is dead or something else ?

Yes, the android app had been broken for months. However, the same app author in the play store inexplicably released a functional app called "AovoPro." (with a period). Idk why they didn't just update the broken one!

I bought an Aovopro ES80 in July 2024. None of the Aovo apps worked. Reached out to the company and was advised to download Tuya app. While that did work and I was able to connect to the scooter, the Tuya app is 10 times the size of the Aovo app and it was a "smart living / smart home" app. It was unnecessarily large and bulky. I will try "AovoPro." and see if that works.

Also, seems the deal is dead for Chicago, IL area. Out of stock.

It also has dual suspension which I imagine would help a lot with the bumps even though the tires are solid.

Anyone get there's? Got mine, rides great but braking is unacceptable. Seems like just a drum break in the rear or something. Does your electric brake work? I'm guessing it's the clip type thumb push thing on the left handle bar? Mine does absolutely nothing when pushed.
