So many models look the same that you just kind of assume they all do the same thing. The crazy part is the thermomaven G1 single probe model connects to the app. The style of the 2 probe looks the same as the G1 yet it doesn't connect.

I snagged a single probe on the last sale and love it. Like it better than the thermomaven. So in for a quad here.

Phenomenal deal. I have 2 of the single probe Gold units, they are awesome. I wish the deals for the multi-probe units were also the Gold series, but this is an amazing deal regardless. If you are on the fence, just do it. Especially the single probe unit if you just want to try it out. They are awesome to grill and smoke with.

FWIW - this is the first gen Typhur Sync. Not sure how much better Gen 2 is, but the first gen got generally good reviews, with a caveat about the ambient temperature not being accurate. But I feel like pretty much every wireless thermometer out there has reviews showing that the ambient temperature sensors are all unreliable because of evaporation.

My opinion is that for texas style smoking, the ambient temperature sensor is actually more important than the probe since you can probe whenever you want. But for other applications - steaks, large roasts in your oven, or used in combination with a good ambient thermometer - wireless is pretty dang awesome. Also: new barbecue toys - in for the 4 pack.
