batteries are the weak point to skil 12v. but i guess to be fair they sell everything so cheap at times how else are they going to make money.
looks like 4ah does dip to 50 once in awhile. i still can't bring myself to buy an off brand

I have had Skil 12v tools for around 2 years and have had no issues with the batteries thus far. I have been impressed with their tools also. Also owner of Dewalt 20v and Milwaukee 12v tools currently.

It's all relative. Skil 12v with 2ah works just fine for most of their tools except the saws. But compare to any m12 tool with any of the bigger/high output batteries it's a night and day difference - and expected so. The price difference is also huge of course.

I purchased the OEM 2Ah 12V batteries and Amazon, Walmart 6Ah 12V aftermarket batteries for my ⅜ impact wrench and impact driver and the Skil tower lamp and the batteries did not disappoint me, they lasted longer in those tools.
It's weird SKIL didn't make 6Ah batteries for their 12V tools. I am guessing the tools were meant for light duty short tasks that don't need 6Ah batteries?
The aftermarket 6Ah battery in my ⅜ impact wrench removed all 20 lug nuts and placed them all back on my 90 ft lb torque Jetta.
The 2 Ah dipped to 50% after removing 2 wheels.

It would be nice to see 2 of the 4Ah batteries go on sale for $75.
I rolled the dice and got 2 aftermarket 6Ah batteries for under $80 after taxes.
No complaints 1 year later on both ⅜ impact wrench and impact driver. both have 125 ft lb torque specs.
I wish they made the SKIL 12V wrench with similar specs of the KOBALT brand that go for $79 on sale.
The SKIL impact driver has plenty enough torque for assembling furniture, repairing my wood picket fence including gate hinges and my entire kitchen cabinets with island install on speed 1. Speed 3 was TOO MUCH.
My FLEX tools and Milwaukee M12 impact driver and impact wrench are collecting dust in the basement.

These SKIL tools torque and RPMs specs are lower than RED and YELLOW.
This was deliberate. I thought SKIL did this to release high torque and RPMs 12V tools later, but it looks like they will not.
The same with their 20V line . That's why I got the M12 Line, perfect for my DIY projects.
