Immediately format the drive and install a fresh copy of Windows.
It's what I do for every new computer, regardless of the brand.
You can create a bootable Windows 11 install USB flash drive using the free tool Microsoft provides.
It's the best way to ensure all manufacturer bloatware (and spyware) is completely cleared out.

Windows activates based on the device, so you don't need a key; it'll activate automatically as soon as it gets an Internet connection.

Specs listed incorrectly above. Shows 1×HDMI 2.0 (not 2.1) on GMKtec website product page.

Besides pro features does this do any extra in regards to not being loaded with spyware? Not trying to be "China bad derp derp. Just didn't know if pro had extra protection or something

Does this company bake proper oem license key into uefi/bios? Meaning reinstalling Windows activates automatically? Or is it more shady?

Seems like a great price for an entry level mini PC. The oculink is a bonus too if you wanted to add even just a little horse power

Some other people also suggest to copy drivers from the original Windows going with the machine.

The website says "Hassle-free 7-Day Return".

Windows 10/11 licenses are stored in the cloud based on device IDs. So even without an OEM license they reactivate once connected to the internet assuming hardware IDs haven't changed.

I have a Gmktec M7. I've reinstalled windows 11 pro a few times using the official iso from Microsoft. Installer prompts for a key, but after selecting the "I don't have a product key" option, windows activates automatically once connected to internet. No need to copy drivers from the oem image. The only driver I've had to go out and find is for the intel NICs, the Ethernet complete driver pack does the trick: https://www.intel.com/content/www...-pack.html

You should know that they should be intelligent enough with the help of AI to install firmware viruses that even if you wipe the drive and reinstall, it would reinstall the viruses.

If you do this approach, do you need to use a Microsoft account? I don't want to have them involved in my login workflow. I have just bought cheap keys online, in the past.

I used Rufus to load the iso to a flash drive, disabling the Microsoft account requirements using the configuration in Rufus. https://rufus.ie/en/

No, and you can do it without Rufus. Windows Pro versions always have the options of "Local Accounts". You won't need a new key either.
