This one is "smokeless" insomuch as it doesn't allow fat to drip onto burner tubes or charcoal like with an outdoor grill with grates, as it uses a griddle plate. However, it's not smokeless like one of those grills that filter the smoke through a pool of water or something similar. Those have fans, ducts, and a lid. If you look at the photos, this has none of those. It looks quite cheap in quality and there appear to be quite a few no name sellers selling this same model. I also see the same product on Aliexpress, although it is actually cheaper on Amazon. The listing is not really accurate either - 1700w in the title but 1500w in the description.

There's usually a water tray at the bottom that you'll have to fill up before using the grill. It helps absorbing the smoke

How does it remain smokeless?

1700 watts is too high for a 15 amp outlet - you'll need a 20 amp protected outlet

Seems useful, just wondering about the durability.

I might buy this to keep at my desk at work and use in the summer for burgers and dogs. Cheap enough I'm sure I'll get my monies worth from it.

Huh? 120v x 15a = 1800w

It also stated 1500w in the description, highly doubt the 1700w is correct. Especially considering 20A outlets are not standard in many American homes (reviews would be horrible based on the non-stopped tripped breakers).

*if I had to guess this is a raw calculation output based on 120v in one calc and 110v in another. Also 1500W ≠ 15A.

I think they are conflating the fact many heaters / vacuums / etc are rated at 1500w and designed for 15A circuits. As if 1500 watts is inherently 15 amps.

The 15A rating is a 'surge' spec for short use devices like hair dryers. Devices that run continuously can only use 80% of the limit, which is why space heaters are limited to 1,500 W.
If it actually pulled 1,700 W and was certified by any reputabble group, it would have a 20 A plug. Given how frequent returns would be, there's no way it does, and the higher rating is probably spec padding to look better in search results.

I was thinking the same thing about the return rate, there would be 5000 reviews complaining about tripped breakings and "fire hazards" if this was pulling over 15 amps by default.

Seems like a good price. Not sure how easy cleanup is?

Wish it had a lid/cover for splash guard and heat retention.

Store it away in your cabinets or pantry.
