This 10W solar battery maintainer is aimed at keeping a parked vehicle topped off, especially for cars, trucks, mowers, and other equipment that sit for weeks at a time. The low price stands out, and the panel has been reported to hold batteries around 12.75 volts, clear low battery warnings, and restart vehicles after long idle periods. The OBD II setup is convenient for some vehicles, but the connector can be finicky, and several reports question whether the panel is enough in winter, behind tinted glass, or for dead batteries. It looks best suited to light maintenance in decent sun.
Common Questions (5)
For maintenance use, 10W can be enough because real-world parasitic draw on many vehicles is low and the panel's rated wattage is its maximum output. It may still be insufficient for some vehicles, especially in winter, under snow, or when the car's draw is higher than the panel can replace.
Yes, it can keep rarely driven vehicles topped off and prevent low-battery warnings when the car has parasitic draw or sits for weeks. Users report success on trucks, vans, mowers, and older cars, with batteries staying around 12.75V and cars starting right up after long sits.
It can work through the OBD-II port on vehicles that support it, and some setups use the battery-terminal clips or a wired-in battery connection instead. Several comments note the OBD-II route is finicky on some cars, so direct battery connections are the safer fallback.
It is a battery maintainer, not a dead-battery charger. It is meant to keep an already charged battery topped off and prevent drain, though some users report it can recover a battery if left on long enough.
It can work inside the windshield, but output drops compared with direct sun. One comment estimates a 30% to 50% efficiency loss behind glass, and tinted glass or poor angles can push losses to 70% or more.

Did you charge via the OBDII port or the direct clips?
If anyone's battery is dead, the fastest charge up is achieved with a charger that uses direct clips and outlet power.
My old trusty Xterra consumes maybe 1W tops to blink an LED with the word "SECURITY" printed above it. Nobody is breaking into it without the LED blinking faster. That'll stop them.
Just remember that the panel wattage is rated at its maximum capacity - not its average output. And be it the car charger or OBD2 adapter, you need an active circuit back to the battery for this to do anything. A lot of negative solar charger (maintainer) reviews come from people not understanding that their vehicles have auto shut-offs on the cigarette lighters when the vehicle is off.
