DJI is notoriously bad with their software. I can only speak for the two drones of theirs I have but when they're ready to move on they release an entirely new app that's only compatible with their new products. The old version quickly will not be compatible with newer phone releases so you have to keep an old phone around to use a 2 year old product. Will not buy from DJI again.

No, not the X5 anyhow.

X5 has better quality and the X4 Air is lighter, insta360 also has more mature software for 360 editing and the ability to swap out damaged lenses in the field. You are SOL if you crack your Osmo360 lens while filming. The main thing the Osmo has going for it is if you are heavily invested in the DJI ecosystem and can use your existing mounts and batteries, etc.

Also if you care about adding sports data overlays, DJI is very broken. It might work once or twice but 90% of the time you'll need to do a PITA workaround whereas insta360 has never not worked for me.

Lens is not user replaceable like insta360 and GoPro. That's a big red flag.

This is no longer the case. You can buy Lens Replacement Kit and replace it yourself.

i did some heavy research and ended up with the DJI osmo 360 over the Insta360 X5.
Reasons to choose Osmo over X5
  1. Form factor (more subtle, square shape than the more attention-attracting long form factor)
  2. 100+ Gb built in storage vs. none
  3. Compatible batteries, mounts, mics with each company's action camera (Action 6 vs. Ace Pro 2)
  4. Higher specs in general (for color grading, recording time, frames per sec)
  5. Cheaper
Reasons to choose X5 over Osmo
  1. Better accessories (e.g., backpack mount/holster, dive case)
  2. Better software (works on PC while DJI supposedly only works on mobile or Mac)
  3. End-user able to replace lenses by themselves
  4. Wind guard on built-in mic on camera
  5. Larger screen
I ultimately went with DJI osmo 360 because i plan to also get their action camera and sharing batteries/mounts were a big thing for me followed closely by my personal preference for its form factor. My biggest gripes can all be easily mitigated like lack of underwater dive case (what I'll buy the action cam for), replaceable glasses (bought 3 yr warranty from Amazon), and software (you can actually output the 360 video and load into Insta360 video software to edit).
