I'm using this with TrueNAS VM running on a Proxmox host. It seems to work well.
It did arrive with a faulty power supply. To the best of my knowledge, the power supply wasn't just sending DC power. It was also outputting low voltage AC power. Surprisingly, everything still worked fine. I only noticed it since it electrified the USB-C cable plugged into my desktop running Proxmox. And when I was working on my desktop chassis, I kept getting a slight electrical "prick" when enough of my skin touched the conductive metal.
Using a multi-meter seemed to validate my conclusion. That, and simple trial and error. Terramaster did send me a new power supply. Once I had the new supply, everything worked as expected.
