The Flint 3e is a WiFi 7 home router aimed at faster 6 gigahertz performance and power users who want to tune settings. It is described as a strong home option, and the FIOS tweak can unlock full 300 by 300 bandwidth after an initial slowdown. The main cautions are that the software feels clunky, the Broadcom chip is not compatible with WRT, and 6 gigahertz range is shorter than the Flint 2's 5 gigahertz reach. It fits best if you want newer wireless features and do not mind some setup work.
home users who want WiFi 7/6GHz support because the Flint 3/3e are designed for the newer WiFi 6E/7 (6GHz) spectrum, which can deliver higher potential speeds on compatible devices even though it has shorter range.
people with Verizon FIOS who are willing to tweak router settings because one commenter initially only got about half of a 300/300 connection, but changing settings enabled full bandwidth.
buyers who are comfortable with router software and want a more advanced setup because one commenter said the software felt clunky and that it's aimed at power users familiar with this type of software, which "rules out most people."
home shoppers comparing alternatives who still want a solid home option because one commenter ended up buying a Slate 7 travel router for a similar price, but still described the Flint 3 as a great home option.
most people who aren't comfortable with advanced router software because a commenter said the software was clunky and wouldn't do what it promised, and that it's for power users familiar with this type of software.
buyers who need reliable day-to-day streaming performance right away because one commenter reported YouTube loading-circle delays 3-5 times per day on both phones after getting the deal and asked whether tweaking would fix it.
people who want better 5GHz range/speeds long-term because commenters argued the Flint 2 is the better choice for range and speeds on 5GHz due to its 4x4 MIMO, while Flint 3/3e target 6GHz with shorter range.
buyers who specifically require WRT compatibility because one commenter claimed this model uses a Broadcom chip and is not compatible with WRT (while Flint 2 was described as compatible).

Hell, even Cisco commercial grade routers are made outside the US. They are from China, Mexico, and more recently, India.
"If you want WiFi7 support then go 3 or 3e.
The Flint 2 offers superior range and speeds on the 5GHz band due to its 4x4 MIMO configuration, while the Flint 3 and 3e are designed for the newer WiFi 6E/7 (6GHz) spectrum, which has a shorter range but offers higher potential speeds for compatible devices."

Few devices that use 6E? My phone and PC from 5-6 years ago both use it and they are mid-low end devices. Wifi 7 is much less common and much less in use. 6E + triband is what I'd be looking for in a modern router. Wifi 7 is wayyy overpriced and largely unnecessary unless for specific use cases.
