This TP-Link Deco tri band mesh system is praised for fast whole home Wi Fi, strong 2.5G performance, and easy setup. It can push near gigabit speeds across larger homes, handle many devices, and offers useful extras like an isolated 2.4 GHz IoT network, guest Wi Fi, VPN support, and solid port forwarding and IP reservations. The main caveat is reliability, with reports of satellites dropping offline, firmware frustrations, and some older printers or devices struggling to connect. A capable mesh option if your network gear and device mix fit its strengths.

Unifi Dream and Express 7 routers are underpowered from a hardware perspective, but top notch when it comes to software/support. If you are able to wire your APs, it's Unifi hands down. For single router solutions with good hardware specs, I would go with ASUS.

While I agree and I want to get that setup this year. It's over kill and a bit much for the average person.

Just FYI this is nothing but a big grift on foreign manufacturers. It clearly states any model that does not have FCC certification currently or upcoming products can still be sold as long as they go through the new approval process and pay their fees....Also this will be impossible to enforce since we have access to China marketplaces like Aliexpress and the likes.
A lot of people don't understand how laws work, it's ok. Go try to import a fully automatic weapon from "China marketplaces".

Maybe see if those "China marketplaces" could get you raw cocaine.

Heck, even fentanyl can't be purchased on "China marketplaces".

You want to become an outlaw for a router and resort to an actual black market where you can get illegal items like the above. Do it. I'm sure there are plenty of transnational criminal organizations that will laugh at you for asking them for a spyware TPLink router with WiFi 8.

Everyone else will just buy legal items, which there will undoubtedly be many of through exemptions of onshored manufacturing.

Stop wasting everyone's time.

Get it while you can!No I'm not kiddinghttps://www.pcmag.com/news/fcc-ju...outside-us
Except that firmware updates will be blocked in 2027. We started a build your own router company to help users get reliable routers designed in America.

So buy at Costco, problem solved!
My BE11000 from Costco at 18 months either took a lightning hit or some other poop show. 1 gig service and was only getting 80-90 on the speed test. Modem was fine as it would hit 700 when wired. Tried a bunch of reboot processes and no luck. Picked up new of the same at Costco and will return the old system to costco. I still have box and receipt.

Is this the same model that costco sells?
Costco is $340 and has the * at our local. So looks like it's going to be on the way out?

Last November I bought an open box google nest WiFi pro 6e axe5400 3 pack form Best Buy for around $110. It's worked well so far. Would this be better option?

We keep the boxes too, makes it so easy when they can just scan the barcode! You don't need the receipt at all, they just look up your purchase in your account! You can also look up your past purchases in your online account! LOVE COSTCO!!

Can this host a vpn service (with ddns) like normal asus routers ? Host, not logging and use vpn service itself.
Yes. It can do OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP.

Set it up in around 15-20 mins. Did an internet test, I use to have wifi 6 (Netgear Nighthawk) with two extenders. Very happy, went from 250-650 mbs to 890 mbs all around the house (2 story house). No more buffering during streaming. Yay!!! My favorite part is all devices connected automatically and no more buffering anywhere in the house. Highly recommend. Super easy setup as well!

If you are going to spend this kind of money, spend a little more and go with a Dream Machine instead of buying something that's about to be banned because of its back doors and other security problems.
