The important part of that article is: "Nor does it prevent retailers from continuing to sell, import, or market router models approved previously through the FCC's equipment authorization process," the commission adds."
Meaning they can continue to manufacture and sell these as long as they were previously FCC approved for that model. We're seeing this in the drone space as DJI was rushing to get their last batch FCC approved before they clamped down.

Very very slightly better specs on the Costco model, nothing I would expect anyone to ever notice in the real world. Maybe worth the extra $15 for the better return policy, though.

Bought these awhile back. They're awesome. My wifi 7 devices gets really fast download speeds. You can open a separate server for 2.4 ghz for your security cams / tv / smart devices so your main wifi isn't cluttered with devices. You can open a guest wifi. And you can sign into a VPN with your router through the app. There's probably more that I haven't discovered yet.

I've been happy with my many-years-old deco m9 plus system but have stopped updating the firmware since they have begun removing features and replacing them with subscription products. They also do not allow downgrades if you are unhappy with that.

I would probably look for a different brand but idk if there are any better alternatives tbh.

I've owned this for about a year and it's been flawless. Maybe one instance of satellites going offline. Infinitely less problematic than the AIMesh system that it replaced.

I have less issues with the Wifi 6 Deco models than this. I have it for a year and older devices does not connect well with this new mesh system.

If this were the BE95 or 85, I'd jump on it. But I don't see the value in 2.5G ethernet and have no dead spots with a TP-link WiFi 5 mesh router.

In the last 5 years 2Gig HSI service has been offered at more affordable rates, so yeah its not for everyone. It also does help with in home streaming if you use a NAS on the LAN. I do agree do that if im upgrading im going straight to a system with at least two 10Gig port so I can at least wire my home network with all 10gig for the future.

If you have gigabit internet then 2.5 gb is perfect and you will get a speed increase with these routers. They over-provision 1gb internet in my experience with AT&T and Spectrum fiber services. They say 1gb but I get 1.2 to 1.4 gb down with a router that has a 2.5 gb internet port connected to their modem. With an older 1gb connection I maxed out at around 920 down.

Not a big deal, but 20-30 percent more speed for free is fine by me!

I've had the Costco version of these for a 1.5 years or so and they've been rock solid for me. I'm using them with around 70 devices and home assistant with a ton of devices, couple small home lab servers and such and it's been great. No complaints. If I ever need more I'll get a ubiquiti cloud gateway and use these in access point mode but for now I'm perfectly content!

Unless you have a 2gb or higher speed internet plan. Otherwise, WiFi 6 is more than enough.

This!!! I've had enough problems with the satellites going offline that I am considering just eating the purchase price and buying another brand. If TP-Link can't provide better firmware fixes now, what incentive do they have to fix their routers once they can no longer sell them in the U.S.A.?

WTG! Plus with Costco, you just take it back for full refund when it konks out after the warranty is over..

I currently have the Deco M9+ (three) works fine, 600MPS service w Xfinity. Lots of devices, security, cameras, YouTube tv, everything working ok. It's been about. 6 years though. Will I get anything with this wifi 7 instead of the wifi 6 models? I don't mind paying extra unless it's a total waste. Do the. 6 models have a separate 2.4ghz for Smart devices? Seems like a good feature. I don't feel like I need gigabit downloads.

I have the costco 11000 and I couldn't get a digital picture frame to connect. The IoT network allowed it to connect. I also put all my smart devices on it, including Alexa echos. The key point, the primary network CAN communicate with the IoT network. No need to specifically join it to print, etc.
