If you're gently laying your weights down, these are fine. If you're dropping them hard go with horse stall mats.

There are cushioning mats for people to be on and light duty use. Do not use these for equipment (exercise or weight lifting). You want denser material for gym flooring to absorb impacts and protect the floor.

Norsk brand from Costco cover the same square footage (24 sq ft) but the foam is 20mm thick (approx 3/4 inch) versus this one being 1/2 inch (12.7mm). Norsk advertises as being "commercial grade". Norsk gives you 12 edge pieces vs 10 pieces on this one. Cost wise, Norsk is $33 per pack in store at my local Costco. There was an asterisk on the sign as of 3/8/26. I believe they were on sale at Costco for $25 a few months ago.

I bought these (or similar) a long time ago and use three on top of each other for weights and the other three as padding in the kitchen

FYI. YMMV. I was at Costco yesterday and the Norsk mats were marked down with an asterisk to $20.
