If you live in SoCal near Chino, there is an outlet store that sells them open box for $2,000. I got one and it was basically brand new. I was originally there to buy the Pro2 for $1,300, but when I mentioned that I wished they had the Max they said that they had 2 in stock. Best impulse purchase ever.

I have the lowest tier streammaster plus at 1650 lumens and it's fantastic, it is plenty bright in my dark corner. I have it at 110" now. Picture quality is amazing and competes with OLED. Gaming has very low lag as well. Black levels are great and I have experienced no downsides. I doubt you will be disappointed.
