Finally - I wouldn't buy this because:
- 2.5 is low power
- I still would recommend far better eye protection that is offered here.
- Air assist really helps engravers maintain clear markings. There is none here.
I just don't want people thinking they are getting something they aren't.

This is a compact 2.5 watt diode engraver best suited to wood, leather, fabric, slate, and non transparent plastics, with limited use on anodized aluminum or coated metal. The price looks competitive versus similar listings, and the output is described as very fine on a sample photo. The main limits are clear acrylic, bare metal, and rings, which need a fiber laser for real engraving. Circular items also call for a rotary attachment, and basic eye protection and ventilation are important.
Common Questions (4)
It can only mark coated metals by burning off the coating, and even then the result is shallow. Bare metal rings generally need a fiber laser, and a rotary attachment is also needed to keep the lens-to-metal distance constant on curved surfaces.
2.5W is considered low power for this class of engraver. It can handle wood, leather, fabric, slate, and some non-transparent plastics, but it is not suited for cutting metal and may need slower settings for wood.
Laser-blocking eyewear matched to the laser wavelength is important, with OD 6 or higher recommended. A cover and fume extraction or ventilation are also useful because engraving can produce strong smoke and scattered light.
Cylindrical items like tumblers and thermoses are difficult on basic diode models without a rotary roller. The listing may show those items, but a rotary attachment is the practical way to keep the engraving aligned on curved surfaces.

Also it its too weak, simply slow it down.
For wood, recommend outdoor or with vacuum cuz it will smell like fire everywhere and not good for your health (thats for all lasers).
Dont worry about eye protection more than basic tinted glasses, its 2.5w. We wear similar glasses for handheld laser welders that can literally burn you.
