Mike Israetel reviewed these on Youtube. Review: https://youtu.be/dB4zAA-pnAQ?t=40...puFsqVPxEB

He's a "whatever chemical can get me there" bodybuilder with several decades under his belt. Most of us would get the liquid shits real quick from these.
I never heard of this guy before. Thank you for the link. Subscribed and will watch more from him.

You get used to the sugar alcohols after a couple days. I'm in for one on this.

Edit: Nevermind. The bulk of the protein is soy protein isolate. Trash lol
Good catch on the soy isolate.

Good catch.

Soy is a pretty good protein source, but collagen is way too low in BCAAs to be the primary source of protein in a bar.
Yeah, I suspect it's mostly soy protein, which is why the reviews say it's so dry, dense, and chewy. And it's a New Zealand company, so the ingredient list can't possibly be in the standard USDA order, where each ingredient is listed in order by % makeup; the first ingredient (chocolate coating) has polydextrose as its main ingredient, and that is 100% fiber, yet each serving only has 2g fiber. And there's definitely more protein than coating, so protein sources should have come first.

Also worth noting: while it doesn't have high-GI sweeteners like isomalt, polydextrose and inulin can cause gas, bloating, and GI distress.

I think more people should start scrutinizing the protein RDA PERCENTAGE rather than the grams of protein as more and more companies are listing collagen as part of their grams of protein in their deceptive packaging, like this one. So 100% of your RDA for protein is 50g. That's 50g of COMPLETE, BIOAVAILABLE protein like whey or even soy. Collagen is NOT complete protein. It actually doesn't build muscle well. And because it's not complete, it actually doesn't count towards the percentage RDA even though it somehow can be listed as part of grams. So this "45g of protein" bar in its two servings only is 72% of your RDA of protein, or about 36g of protein. Still not as bad as some others (I'm looking at you Puff "protein" bars), but also not 45g.
(Also, before anyone jumps on me saying "RDA is a bogus number, you should eat more protein than the government's RDA number" -- I am not recommending you eat more or less protein than the RDA amount...it is just the number that is used to calculate the true protein in any product.)
