Yes, this hard side train case could easily pass as a personal item for Spirit or Frontier. However, the train case is honestly too small for Spirit or Frontier in the sense that you have much more generous personal items allowances on either airline. This train case has a volume under 600 cubic inches, whereas the personal item limit of 18 in x 14 in x 8 in is over 2000 cubic inches so more than triple the volume(!). Why spend so much for a bag that leaves so much packing volume unutilized unless you have a specific use case for overnight trips?
