The real deals here are the PlayStation Fortnite bundles which are $100 less than other pricing and $200 less than they'll be on the 2nd. Wanted to make the thread so anyone on the fence about purchasing had time to before the price increases next week.

This will kill the industry. No one will be able to afford these prices to game.

Y'all can blame the handful of corporations for for throwing all their eggs into the AI basket, causing GPU, RAM and storage prices to skyrocket in such a short period. Unfortunately, these are the core components in gaming consoles. RIP console gaming, it's only for the wealthy population now.

The console is hardware hackable. They're trying to milk as much as they can before they have to move on.
I was just thinking about getting another simply to let it sit so I can add to the hacking community in a way of protesting the price increases.

they aren't even trying to give back to the gaming communities that helped make them millions upon of millions of dollars, by sweetening the deal, increasing the warranty period, extra gear, etc.
Why the hell would they do any of that when, instead, they can just charge more money and the bugmen will continue to pay?

It's really only one side. M$ is toast for now, so the market is basically left to the whims of Sony (and the benevolent innovators at Nintendo of course, lest we forget them). Regardless, they've done the financial analysis and concluded the market has no choice and will pay what they charge. Are they correct?

Quote from MoMoney84 :
In my opinion, these companies should be have what happened with GameStop, happen to them. Both of them have already made their fortunes with this console cycle. To expect their customers to pay more for their products that are not even being refreshed, upgraded, or the next console evolution being released it's just plain bad business and a spot in the face of their customers. I say they get punished like GameStop, or a complete boycott. If they really want to lose money, they sure are asking for it.
Well, you're a little angry. But you're nowhere near angry enough, nor about enough things. And you're vastly, hilariously outnumbered. This'll impact some consumers, but these companies won't feel a thing - bugmen will keep paying, and prices will keep rising. The water temperature increases a few degrees but don't fret, you'll get used to it in short order.

Nevermind the fact these consoles were released over 5 years ago, despite tariff's and memory/silicon price increases, where do they get off doing this on hardware that is already in a "EOL" state? With next gen around the corner for new hardware expected to be released (maybe not now) but they aren't even trying to give back to the gaming communities that helped make them millions upon of millions of dollars, by sweetening the deal, increasing the warranty period, extra gear, etc.

There are no new hardware revisions, no performance increases, nothing in the works that would hint towards this being a justified response. Sony/Microsoft are charging new gen prices on old/last gen hardware. If that doesn't give you a bad taste in your mouth, pipe on the XBOX Live subscription price increases as well. It's extortion at this point.

Cancelled gamepass immediately when they jacked the price. Cancelled ps premium when they jacked their price, stacked a lot of ps+ years ago but will never pay the new price when it runs out.

It should have been clear years ago when they wanted to charge people to play online where things would eventually head.

Damn, didn't realize these upcoming price increases. Planning to get 5% cash back with my Venmo card at either Walmart or Gamestop on a PS5 Pro before April 2nd.
