Good deal. I have 2 of these fans and the much more expensive dewalt. I actually like these a bit more, they are hybrid (plug in or battery power) which the newer DeWalts no longer offer that feature. I think I bought mine on sale for $39 each, so $9 gets you a batter and a charger. I might just buy another one for work

While the HP battery is better for some tools, this isn't one of them.

True but a lot of us can benefit from HP on our other Ryobi tools.

Grabbed 1 for the office. Hybrid power makes it a no brainer. Thanks OP!

What is HD return policy? Since they don't provide a packaging slip when ordering from them when it's delivered at home.

I've been thinking about committing to ryobi as a home diyer (at least for power tools, not sure on outdoor yet). It sounds like this isn't worth it just for the battery? I don't really need the fan, but if I do go the Ryobi route it sounds like this could be a good deal from that viewpoint (IE battery/charger + 'free' fan). I'm new to the ecosystem and still evaluating the home options for 'best bang for buck convenience and performance'

I did the ryobi route for home diy and don't regret it. I grabbed one of those 9 tool bundles then have found a few other deals on blemished tools.

The battery is on the small end of the spectrum. 4 Ah was "normal" for me when I started with Ryobi. More and more, Ryobi is pairing their tools with the 2Ah though, sad to say. The fan is more valuable, IMO. Remember, it's a hybrid (AC, battery).

Ryobi, Ridgid (portable power tools) and Milwaukee are all made by the same company, TTI. However, Ridgid is the only that offers a lifetime "warranty" via their Lifetime Service Agreement, with registration withing 90 days of purchase. This includes batteries. Be sure to ring them if the LSA is not showing confirmed prior to the 90 day registration period ends. Last time I had to ring and they needed me to email another copy of the receipt. This despite me uploading during the online registration process. Re-register any replacement tools or batteries received to keep the LSA going.

If you're already Ryobi or other brand, purchasing Ridgid batteries and getting a $20 battery adapter on eBay is a great way to save on never having to repurchase replacement batteries.

Edit - here's a rigid 2 x 4.0 batteries for $64 post.
